•A project editor can create new proposed projects and new investigations as well as edit those they are authorized for.
•All projects going forward in Atlas 2.0 will require an initial Proposed Projects to identify the Work Areas, Roads and Routes and Assets (Bridges, Signals, and Sign Support).
•The Compass application will be used to promote the Proposed Project to the proper CTCORE project number.
•Atlas facilitates the creation of a variety of different project types:
•Some transportation projects are initially defined by the capital assets that are the focus of the project, like a bridge rehab project that's defined by a group of bridges in a specific area.
•Other project types may affect a stretch of road, like a re-paving project on a state route.
•A general project work area can be defined in several different ways for a proposed project.
