Step 2 - Edit Work Areas

This step allows you to define a work area for the investigation. Unlike a project, an investigation can only have one work area.

The work area is the geometric boundary of the investigation. Work areas are typically on roadways, but they don't have to be.

Atlas provides several different ways to define a project work area in the Create a new work area dropdown list.

To create a new work area:

1.Select work area from the list.

2.Click Create button to create a work area with the selected type.

3.Created work area will be added to the grid.

4.Grid has the following functionalities you can use:

Edit - Rename the work area and update the polygon.

Replace - Replace the work area by uploading a KML/KMZ file. Only one work area polygon is allowed.

Zoom to - It will zoom to and highlight the work area.

Delete - Delete the work area.

Export - Export the work area as a KML file.

Grid's built-in controls  to sort or filter the list.

5.Click the Next button to advance to the next step.
